Datacron Database:About

From Datacron Continuity Database, the Star Wars Legends wiki

The Datacron Continuity Database or DCD was first created by HolocronKeeperEvan January 7, 2021. The wiki is the successor to the Legends Holocron Database and was created to catalog any and all material pertaining to Star Wars Legends without being constrained by the limits set forth by Wookieepedia and FANDOM.

About Us[edit source]

Origins of the Name[edit source]

The name of this wiki is an homage to Lucasfilm Ltd.'s own Holocron Continuity Database managed by The Keeper of the Holocron Leland Chee. For those who are unware of the difference between a Holocron and Datacron a Holocron is only accessible to a Force User (a select few) where a Datacron is accessible to everyone, which this wiki reflects as anything here is available to all to access instead of a select few like the Holocron Continuity Database.

What is considered canonical within the Database?[edit source]

We consider each and every Star Wars Content and Products produced between 1976 and 2014 with exceptions such as: Fantasy Flight Games material, sub-licensed Role-Playing Game material, Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Clone Wars: The Final Season, and completed unreleased content. If certain information such as the name of a conflict, species or ship name or location are not given within the context of Legends material but however given in Star Wars New Canon we apply said name to our articles to form a more complete picture. Each individual article is noted and curated as part of the Database and assigned a designation based upon the Holocron Continuity Database's Pillar and Tier system. When discrepancies and contradictions within continuity arise we take our time to note each individual one and determine the most likely, probable and best way to resolve such issues to provide a clear and concise continuity for those perusing our Database to understand.
