Luke Skywalker (Pronounced: Lōōk Skī'-wälk-ûr) was a farmboy from the planet of Tatooine, son of a powerful Jedi Knight and raised by his uncle and aunt Owen and Beru Lars.

Biography

A New Hope

Luke's life changed dramatically after his Uncle purchased R2-D2 and C-3PO from a group of Jawas, to aid them on the farm. While cleaning them up in the garage Luke learned that the droids were previously involved in a battle, and discovered within Artoo a partial message pleading for help from Obi-Wan Kenobi by Princess Leia Organa. Luke attempts to view the whole message only to be tricked by Artoo. During a meal Luke discussed his discovery and talked about submitting an application to the Academy to his Uncle. Luke returned to the garage later on in the evening to discover Artoo had ran off to complete his mission to deliver the message to Obi-Wan Kenobi. The following morning Luke and See-Threepio took his landspeeder to search for the missing R2 unit, locating him within a canyon. Luke would then be attacked and knocked out by Sand People, only to be saved by the local hermit Ben Kenobi who revealed himself to be Obi-Wan.[2]
