Red Squadron was a starfighter squadron of the Rebel Alliance.

Behind the Scenes

In Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker the squadron was named Blue Squadron, as was originally in the Script for the film. Since the color blue on the X-Wing's was impossible to film on the blue screens the props were repainted red and was the name changed to Red Squadron in the film, because of this a retcon was made by the film overwriting the novel.
